Today marks a year since the Velykomostivska community lost a Hero — Mykhailo Pentsak.
Mykhailo Pentsak was born in the village of Boyanets, studied at Turynkivska School and the technical college of Lviv Polytechnic. After his studies, he worked as a miner at the Zarichna and Lisova mines. He was known as a kind, sincere, honest, and fair person.
In 2020, Mykhailo was mobilized to defend Ukraine. He was awarded the ‘Participant of the ATO’ medal. With the start of the full-scale war, he continued to serve in the hottest sectors of the front such as Lysychansk and Bakhmut, for the defense of which he received a recognition.
On September 5, 2024, while performing a combat mission in the area of Chasiv Yar in Donetsk region, Mykhailo gave his life for the freedom and independence of Ukraine. He was posthumously awarded the order of the 24th Mechanized Brigade named after King Danylo — ‘Hero’s Cross.’
He was a brave warrior, commander, reliable friend, and loving son. His heart always beat for his loved ones and for Ukraine. “We bow our heads in gratitude before our Hero. Mykhailo, you will forever remain alive in our hearts.”
