Today, the 125th Separate Territorial Defense Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine celebrates a year since its creation. On this occasion, in Lviv they prayed together for all the soldiers who defended and defend the borders of our country from the Russian invaders. A thematic photo exhibition about the 125th brigade – “Year of Defense” will also be opened in the city center.
“Today marks exactly one year since the creation of our 125th separate territorial defense brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Thousands of brave boys and girls became volunteers and in a short time formed a new brigade. These are our children, brothers, sisters, husbands, wives, relatives. Today, they protect the Motherland in the hottest spots, in particular in the Bakhmut area. Where there are battles for the Independence of Ukraine. They choose the right for the future every day, and there – in the east, they make our Lviv safe. Thanks for the defense! Glory to the Ukrainian Defenders! Glory to Ukraine!” – noted the mayor of Lviv Andriy Sadovyi.
First, a joint prayer was held in the Garrison Church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul with the participation of military personnel, chaplains, representatives of the authorities and the public. From the city, Yevhen Boyko, director of the “Mayor’s Administration” department, joined the prayer.
After the burials at the Lychakiv cemetery, the memory of all the Heroes who died fighting for Ukraine were commemorated. Heroes of the city were honored by the mayor of Lviv Andriy Sadovyi.
A photo exhibition about the 125th Brigade “Year of Defense” was also opened on Rynok Square, near the City Council. A year of the brigade’s existence is 365 days of struggle and valor. The photos of this exhibition are collected from unknown authors, but the Heroes are known to all of us, because we have every day thanks to them. It will be possible to view the exhibition during the week – until next Wednesday, March 29.
We will remind, on March 22, 2022, the 125th separate territorial defense brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was formed. With the forces of subordinate separate battalions, the brigade performs combat tasks for the defense of the state against the aggressor on the territory of Donetsk region, Lviv and Lviv region.
