The families of two fallen defenders from the Ivano-Frankivsk community have received posthumous state and military awards. The presentation took place with the participation of the Head of the Yavoriv District Military Administration, Yaroslav Komynskyi, the Deputy Commander of the 42nd Separate Mechanised Brigade, Ivan Bondarev, and representatives of the Yavoriv District Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Centre.
By Decree of the President of Ukraine, the Order “For Courage” Third Class (posthumously) has been awarded to Ruslan Muzychko, a resident of the urban-type settlement of Ivano-Frankove, a soldier and grenadier of the air assault battalion of military unit A1910. For more than a year, the serviceman was considered missing in action, and his death was confirmed after DNA testing. Ruslan Muzychko was killed on 24 January 2025 near the settlement of Pohrebky in the Sudzha district of Kursk region.
By order of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the “Combatant’s Cross” distinction (posthumously) has been awarded to Yurii Myronov, a resident of the village of Kozhychi in the Ivano-Frankivsk community, a gunner of a mechanised squad of military unit A4667. Since June 2023, he had been considered missing in action while carrying out a combat mission near the settlement of Dibrova in Luhansk region. His death was later also confirmed by DNA testing.
As emphasised by the Yavoriv District State Administration, these distinctions are a recognition of the courage, resilience and self-sacrifice of the servicemen who gave their lives for Ukraine’s freedom and independence.
