
Roman Hrytsan (19.06.1991–27.05.2025), a soldier of the National Guard of Ukraine, was killed in action, and his identity was confirmed by DNA analysis.
He was born in Stryi and lived in the village of Duliby. He studied at the Ivan Franko Lyceum in Stryi and the Stryi College of LNAU. After getting married, he lived with his family in the village of Pidhirtsi.
Before the full-scale war, Roman Hrytsan worked as a sales representative for the company “Liustdorf”. In July 2024, he was mobilised into the ranks of the National Guard of Ukraine.
The soldier served bravely, defending Ukraine on the front lines. He was awarded the Presidential decoration “For the Defence of Ukraine”.
During fighting near the settlement of Hrodivka in the Pokrovsk district of Donetsk region, Roman Hrytsan went missing in action. His family waited for news for more than a year, and later the defender was identified by DNA analysis.
The fallen soldier is survived by a little daughter, who will grow up without her father. Relatives and friends extend their condolences to the mother, wife, daughter and grandmother of the fallen warrior.
