Every time another week of war ends – of our defense, of our active actions – it is important to say one thing: to give thanks.
To thank everyone who protects our state and gives Ukraine the opportunity to be truly Ukraine: itself – a living and strong country. It is important to thank everyone who fights against the state, everyone who helps to fight and who protects the interests of Ukraine in the world. To everyone who trains our soldiers, who treats, who develops our combat medicine and our military production and provision of our people – provision of everything necessary. We must always understand how many people are involved in the defense of Ukraine and Ukrainians. And each of these people is important, all of them together are Ukrainian strength. First of all, these are our soldiers. Those who physically restrain the enemy, who destroy the occupier, who protect against Russian missiles and drones.
And today I want to especially mention the units of our National Guard of Ukraine, which are fighting together with all defense and security forces. Fight hard, fight hard, fight effectively.
I thank you, warriors! The 3rd and 14th operational brigades of the National Guard, which are fighting in the offensive operation in the south. The 12th brigade of the National Guard is the Eastern direction. The boys are holding their positions and defending every meter of Ukrainian land. Thank you for your strength! Thank you for repelling the Russian assaults! The 4th brigade of the operational assignment of the National Guard is fighting in the Bakhmut direction. I am especially grateful to the gunners and anti-aircraft gunners of the 4th brigade. You guys are great! And of course, the Avdiyiv direction: there, together with all our soldiers, the fighters of the National Guard’s special-purpose units fight heroically. Thank you guys for your persistence!
It is also important to remember the soldiers and units of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, who also fight together with everyone as part of the defense forces on the front line, and also protect our border and guarantee the safety of border traffic. They are really not often talked about, but they are also well done.
Donetsk region, Avdiyiv direction – thank you to the soldiers of the Zhytomyr border detachment. Senior sergeants Nazar Siriy and Serhii Solozhuk were especially distinguished. Lyman direction – thanks to the guys from the Izmail border detachment. And special thanks to chief sergeant Oleksandr Atmazhov and senior sergeant Yuriy Panasenko. Thank you for your courage! And the Dozor special unit performs tasks in various directions. I thank all of you guys! And I will also note the border guards of the Sumy detachment – thank you for protecting against saboteurs and for shooting down Russian drones!
We are almost halfway through November and we must be prepared for the fact that the enemy may increase the number of drone or missile strikes on our infrastructure. Russia is preparing for winter. And in Ukraine, all attention should be focused on defense, on responding to terrorists, on everything that Ukraine can do to make it easier for our people to get through this winter and increase the capabilities of our soldiers.
I thank all our partners who helped Ukraine with air defense. These are different countries: the United States, Germany, France, Britain, this is Norway, Italy, this is Romania, this is Sweden, the Netherlands, Slovakia, this is the Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Poland, the Baltic states and other countries. “Patriots”, “Nasams”, “Iris”, “Ravens”, “Hawks”, other systems. We can’t talk openly about everything now, but the Ukrainian air defense is already stronger than last year. Already other possibilities, but not yet full protection of the entire territory, unfortunately. And we are working to make it even stronger. Every country, every leader who helps us strengthen air defense, helps protect lives. And I call on all Ukrainian men and women, all those whose voices are heard in the world, our journalists, all those who support Ukraine in the world, to help strengthen protection. Help! We are capable of passing the most difficult tests. But together, in unity, when we care about each other and when millions of people help their defenders and their country. Being united and grateful is a must.
