Drone Attack on Lviv Region on March 24, 2026 Damaged Homes, a Monastery, and Critical Infrastructure

On March 24, 2026, the Lviv region once again came under attack by enemy drones. Over the course of several hours, UAV movements in various directions were recorded across the region, while air defense forces engaged targets in the sky over the oblast. The attack had the greatest impact on Lviv, as well as on several individual communities in the region.

According to updated information as of 17:48, an architectural monument of national significance — the Bernardine Monastery Ensemble — sustained damage. The site is located within the historical area of Lviv, which is included in the International List of Cultural Property under Enhanced Protection. The fire engulfed the perimeter buildings of the monastery complex. The final extent of the destruction is to be determined by профильні specialists after an inspection.

In addition, strikes on critical infrastructure facilities were recorded in the territories of the Komarno and Dobrosyn-Maheriv communities. At the same time, information about a fire on Brativ Rohatyntsiv Street in Lviv, which had been reported earlier, was later not confirmed.

It was previously reported that as a result of the enemy drone attack, fires broke out in residential areas in several districts of Lviv. The following locations were mentioned:

  • Soborna Square;
  • Brativ Rohatyntsiv Street;
  • Chervonoi Kalyny Street.

In addition, due to falling drone debris, a private house caught fire in the village of Sernyky in the Bibrka territorial community. Rescue workers and firefighting units were operating at all locations.

According to preliminary information, seven people were injured. One person was in serious condition. Data regarding the consequences of the strike were being clarified throughout the entire period following the attack.

The chronology of events indicates that the air threat in the Lviv region persisted continuously. At 16:30, it became known about a strike in the central part of Lviv. At the same time, preliminary information emerged about possible damage to a UNESCO heritage site. Already at 16:48, a strike was reported in Sykhiv, where a multi-story residential building caught fire. At 16:58, an enemy drone was moving toward Zhovkva and Rava-Ruska.

Later, at 17:17, at least two enemy UAVs were in the region’s airspace, and air defense was engaging them. At 17:30, another drone was reported to be heading toward Novyi Yarychiv. As of 17:58, a separate warning was also issued about a threat to Zolochiv.

Despite the work of the air defense forces, the danger from the air remained high throughout the entire attack. Residents of the region were repeatedly urged not to leave shelters until the official all-clear signal for the air raid alert.
