
On Friday, 3rd April, Lviv will bid farewell to serviceman Serhiy Ryhan, who died defending Ukraine from Russian occupiers. The city council urges residents and visitors to join the farewell ceremony and refrain from entertainment activities.
The funeral service will commence at 11:00 at the Garrison Church of Sts. Peter and Paul. Following this, at approximately 11:30, a city-wide farewell ceremony will take place at Rynok Square. The defender will be buried at Lychakiv Cemetery, in the field of honourable burials No. 87.
Serhiy Ryhan (01.03.1967 — 14.07.2024) was a native of Lviv. He studied at Secondary School No. 1 in Lviv, later attending the National University “Lviv Polytechnic”. He worked as a locksmith and gas welder. With the onset of the full-scale invasion, he joined the defence of the Motherland as part of the 24th Separate Mechanised Brigade. He was awarded the “Cross of the Brave” badge. Serhiy is survived by his mother, sister, and family.
