Sergeant Volodymyr Behai from Butyny has died after being wounded in Donetsk region

On 5 June 2026, Defender of Ukraine Sergeant Volodymyr Vasylovych Behai, a resident of the village of Butyny in the Velyki Mosty community, born in 2000, passed away.

Volodymyr Behai served in military unit A3719 as an unmanned aerial vehicle operator. From the very beginning of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, he stepped forward to defend the country and fulfilled his military duty in various sectors of the front.

While taking part in operations necessary to ensure the defence of Ukraine and protect the safety of the population, in the area of the settlement of Sloviansk, Kramatorsk district, Donetsk region, Sergeant Behai sustained severe wounds and extensive burns as a result of a strike by an enemy drone. Medics tried to save his life, but his injuries proved incompatible with life.

The Velyki Mosty community has expressed its condolences to the parents of Volodymyr Behai, his sisters and their families, as well as to all the relatives, friends and comrades-in-arms of the fallen soldier.
