
Six Defenders from the Sambir region were honored with high state awards, unfortunately, posthumously.
Vitaliy Blendei from the village of Busovyska was awarded the Order “For Courage” III degree. The defender served in the 116th Separate Mechanized Brigade. He died in October 2024 near the village of Synkivka in the Kharkiv region. He will forever be 44.
Stepan Kiak from the village of Velyka Lynyna was awarded for his service in the 33rd Separate Rifle Battalion. He died in April 2024 near Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region. He will forever be 53.
Mykola Hrim from the village of Sozania, who served as a senior machine gunner in the 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after King Danylo, was awarded for heroism. Mykola died during a combat mission. He will forever be 30.
Volodymyr Slamakha from the village of Drozdovychi, a sniper rifleman of the air assault battalion, was awarded for bravery. He died during a combat mission near the village of Pohrebky in the Kursk region. He will forever be 25.
Ivan Pashchak from the village of Horodovychi, a rifleman-assistant grenade launcher, was awarded for courage. He died during a combat mission in August 2024. He will forever be 50.
Volodymyr Shumskyi from Nyzhankovychi was awarded the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky III degree. The defender was a senior lieutenant and deputy company commander. He died in February 2024 in the Donetsk region. He will forever be 57.
