
Seven Defenders from the Stryi District were awarded high national honors, unfortunately, posthumously.
This was reported by the head of the Lviv Regional State Administration, Maksym Kozytskyi. The Order of Courage, 3rd Class, was awarded to: Yuriy Syrotyuk from the village of Zavadiv, who died in November 2024 during a mission in the Kursk region. Andriy Merchuk from Stryi, who died in October 2024 in the Donetsk region. Vasyl Dyohtyev from Konyukhiv, who died in February 2024 on the Zaporizhia front. Roman Sakal from the village of Dovhe, who passed away in one of Kyiv’s hospitals. Dmytro Tsish from the village of Ugersko, who died in June 2024 in the Donetsk region. Ihor Hanevych from Stryi, who died in September 2023 near Novoprokopivka in the Zaporizhzhia region.
The Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky, 3rd Class, was awarded to Ivan Opryshko from the village of Zavadiv, who died in the Kursk region. The awards were presented to the relatives and loved ones by the head of the Stryi District State Administration, Bohdan Yanko.
