Sknyliv bids farewell to senior soldier Dmytro Holub

Today, the village of Sknyliv laid to rest one of its own, senior soldier Dmytro Olehovych Holub, who fell victim to Russian aggression. Dmytro returned to his native land not as his family had dreamed — he became a guardian angel for each and every villager.

A sorrowful procession through the village roads echoed with the pain in the hearts of dozens of people whose lives have been shattered by this brutal war. In the local church, where the soldier was given his final rites, it seemed as though even the walls wept. To the sound of the final salute, Dmytro was laid to rest in the village cemetery — in the soil he held so dear.

His life became a symbol of boundless love for Ukraine. Dmytro was only 46 years old. He is survived by his wife Maria, daughter Vera, son Denis, mother Nadia, brother Andrii and sister Olesya.

Rest in peace, our Defender! Eternal memory and glory to you!
