Taras Kuleba was born in the village of Uhry, Horodok City Council. He graduated from secondary school №4 in Gorodok, then – Higher Vocational School №29 in Lviv.
He served in the Separate Kyiv Order of the Red Banner of the Regiment of the President of Ukraine of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Since 2013 he has served under contract in the 80th separate airmobile of the Order of the Red Star Brigade of the Highly Mobile Airborne Troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Since April 2014, he has participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine. He took part in the liberation of the city of Slovyansk in the Donetsk region and in the defense of the Luhansk International Airport.
On August 16, 2014, Russian terrorist groups fired at the positions of the Ukrainian military near the village of Krasne in the Krasnodon (now Sorokin) district of the Luhansk region from BM-21 Grad multiple rocket launchers. The shelling killed 10 servicemen, including Kuleb’s soldiers.
