Meeting of the Fallen Defender of Ukraine Anton Melnyk

Today, there will be a meeting of the fallen defender of Ukraine – Anton Melnyk from Drohobych.

Anton Melnyk from Drohobych died while defending Ukraine from the enemy. The soldier was born on March 4, 1978. He graduated from Lviv National Medical University and dedicated his life to medicine. For many years, he worked as a highly qualified dentist. To his patients, he was more than just a doctor — a trusted and respected individual.

In the first days of the full-scale enemy invasion, Anton stood up for the defense of Ukraine, later joining the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and remained faithful to his oath till the end. He made a conscious choice — to stand for his country, for the future of his children, for freedom.

Anton was a platoon commander of the marine infantry company of the 1st marine infantry battalion of military unit A2802. **The warrior gave his life for Ukraine** and died as a Hero on October 23, 2024, during a combat mission on the Kursk direction of the front. He is survived by his father, daughter, son, ex-wife, brother with family, and nieces and nephews.

The procession with the body of the fallen soldier will meet today, February 21, at 2:00 PM at the intersection of Heroes. Afterwards, the procession will proceed to the Rynok Square, where at 2:30 PM a citywide farewell to the warrior will take place.

Tomorrow at 2:00 PM, the funeral rite will take place. The Hero will be buried at the cemetery on Pylypa Orlyka Street. Eternal memory and honor to the Hero!
