Today, January 6, Lviv said goodbye to Hero Matvii Koval, who died in the battle with the Russian invaders.
The soldier was buried at the Lychakiv cemetery.
Biographical reference of the Hero
Matvii Koval (10.08.1977-26.12.2022). A native of Lviv.
He studied at the Lviv secondary comprehensive school of grades I-III No. 7 of the Lviv City Council. He graduated from the State Educational Institution “Lviv Higher Professional School of Food Technologies”. After completing his studies, he served in the army.
In peacetime, he worked in the security sector.
During 2015-2016, he performed combat missions in the area of the Anti-Terrorist Operation in the ranks of the 79th Separate Airborne Assault Brigade of the Airborne Assault Troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Despite the status of a person with a disability as a result of the war, from the first days of the full-scale invasion, he volunteered to defend the Motherland. He fought against the Russian occupiers as part of the 80th separate airborne assault brigade of the Airborne Assault Troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Matvii Koval is survived by his father, sister, wife, son and niece.
