Today, Lviv said goodbye to three Heroes who defended Ukraine

Today, February 28, Lviv said goodbye to three more Heroes. Oleg Andreytsiv, Vasyl Chepak, Dmytro Boyko died defending Ukraine from the Russian invaders. The City Hall calls on Lviv residents and guests to join the city’s farewell ceremony and to refrain from entertainment events and celebrations during this time.

Biographical references of Heroes

Oleg Andreytsiv (02.08.1990-19.02.2023)

A native of the village of Zimna Voda, Lviv region.
He studied at Lyceum No. 74 named after Mariyka Pidhiryanka of the Lviv City Council. Graduated from the Faculty of History of Ivan Franko National University of Lviv.

He was fond of history, actively engaged in archaeological research.

Participant of the Revolution of Dignity. Later, he volunteered to join the 406th Separate Artillery Brigade named after Corporal General Oleksiy Almazov of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, until 2018 he performed combat missions in the area of the Anti-Terrorist Operation.

From the first days of the full-scale invasion, the Russian Federation voluntarily went to war. He fought against the Russian invaders in the ranks of the 406th separate artillery brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the southern and eastern directions.

Oleg Andreytsiv is survived by his mother, sister, aunts, cousin and two nieces.

 

Vasyl Chepak (May 31, 1996-February 25, 2023) from Lviv.

He studied at Secondary Secondary School of Grades I-III No. 36 of the city of Lviv. He graduated from the Higher Vocational School No. 20 with a specialty “Maintenance and repair of cars and engines”.

After completing his studies, he completed his military service as part of the A1065 military unit in Zhytomyr.

He worked as a security guard at the Dniester Tourist and Hotel Complex Private Joint Stock Company. In his free time, he was fond of cars.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he fought against the Russian occupiers in the ranks of the 80th Separate Airborne Assault Brigade of the Airborne Assault Troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Vasyl Chepak is survived by his parents, grandparents, sister, nephews, uncle, aunt, fiancée and godparents.

 

Dmytro Boyko (April 10, 1995-February 21, 2023) from Lviv.

He graduated from the “Sofia” Kindergarten School. Studied at Lviv National Medical University named after Danylo Halytskyi.

While preparing to become a doctor, he worked as an emergency physician. He was passionate about his profession.

With the beginning of a full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he came to the defense of the Motherland. Defended the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the state as part of the 53rd battalion of the A4220 military unit. Fought against the Russian invaders in the eastern direction. He was exceptionally responsible for the fulfillment of assigned tasks.

Dmytro Boyko is survived by his twin brother, grandmother and uncles.
