Today, Lviv says goodbye to Heroes Andrii Kryzhanivskyi and Oleksandr Shabanov

Today, October 12, Lviv will say goodbye to Andrii Kryzhanivskyi and Oleksandr Shabanov, who died in the battle with the Russian invaders.

The funeral ceremony took place in the Garrison Church of Sts. App. Peter and Paul, military servicemen will be buried at the Lychakiv cemetery. The City Hall urges you to join the farewell ceremony and to refrain from entertaining events and celebrations during this time.

Blue and yellow flags with mourning ribbons are hung on the buildings along the route of the columns.

 

Biographical references of Heroes

 

Andriy Kryzhanivskyi (May 3, 2002-October 1, 2022)

A native of Odesa, he moved to the village of Ivanyki in the Lviv region in his early childhood.

He studied at the Lviv secondary comprehensive school of the I-III degrees No. 7 of the Lviv City Council, later at the Stryi general educational school of the I-III degrees No. 2 named after the Hero of Ukraine Andriy Korchak. He graduated from the state educational institution “Novoyavoriv Higher Vocational College”.

In 2021, he entered Volyn National University named after Lesya Ukrainka, studied at the Department of Applied Linguistics. In May of the same year, he signed a contract with the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

He served in the ranks of the 24th separate mechanized brigade named after King Danylo of the “West” operational command of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. As early as January 2022, he performed combat missions in the Luhansk region.

Andrii Kryzhanivskyi is survived by his parents, two sisters, two grandmothers and grandfather.

 

Oleksandr Shabanov (March 2, 1964-September 29, 2022) from Lviv.

He studied at Lyceum No. 5 named after Ivanna and Ilya Kokorudziv of the Lviv City Council. He graduated with honors from Ternopil National Medical University named after Ivan Yakovych Gorbachevskiy, majoring in “medical affairs”. During 1981-1985, he served in the military as a private and non-commissioned officer.

After completing his studies, he worked at the Communal Non-Profit Enterprise “Central City Clinical Hospital” of the Sumy City Council. Until 2015, he held positions at the Lviv Regional Clinical Hospital of ENT.

Subsequently, he was transferred to the Department of Health Protection of the executive body of the Kyiv City Council (Kyiv City State Administration), worked as the chief specialist of the medical care quality control department of the internal financial audit and medical care quality control department.

Participant of the Revolution of Dignity. In 2017, by the Decree of the President of Ukraine, he was awarded the Order “For Courage” III degree.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion, he defended the Motherland as part of the A4638 military unit.

Oleksandr Shabanov is survived by his brother and nephews.
