Today, Lviv says goodbye to Heroes Vasyl Suschuk, Andriy Bily and Vitaly Borysiuk

July 29 Lviv will say goodbye to three Heroes who defended Ukraine from the Russian invaders at the cost of their own lives: Vasyl Suschuk, Andriy Bily and Vitaly Borysyuk. The funeral will be held in the Garrison Church of Sts. App. Peter and Paul.

The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Garrison Church, and at 11:30 a city farewell ceremony will take place on Rynok Square. The City Hall urges you to join the farewell ceremony and to refrain from entertaining events and celebrations during this time.

Vasyl Suschuk and Vitaly Borysyuk will be buried at the Lychakiv cemetery, Andriy Bily – in the village of Lopushna, Lviv district.

After the city farewell ceremony, the funeral procession of the two Heroes will head to the Lychakiv cemetery. Blue and yellow flags with a mourning ribbon will be hung on the buildings along the route of the convoy.

Biographical references of Heroes

Vasyl Suschuk (October 20, 1978-May 18, 2022) from Lviv. Studied at Lyceum No. 94 of the Lviv City Council. In the 1990s, he served in the military in the city of Kolomyia, Ivano-Frankivsk region.
In peacetime, he was a private entrepreneur.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he voluntarily joined the ranks of the separate special purpose unit “Azov” of the Eastern Operational Territorial Association of the National Guard of Ukraine. Subsequently, he defended the state as part of the A3449 military unit.

Participated in special rescue missions to the metallurgical plant “Azovstal” in the city of Mariupol, Donetsk region. He was one of the 72nd soldiers who landed at the plant.

 

Andriy Bely (16.06.1971-21.07.2022) native of Lviv. He studied at secondary comprehensive school of grades I-III No. 49 in the city of Lviv. Graduated from the Lviv Higher Professional School of Design and Construction. After completing his studies, he joined the military service.

In peacetime, he was a private entrepreneur, engaged in repair work.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion, he defended the Motherland from the Russian invaders as part of the A4221 military unit.

Andrii Bily is survived by his parents, wife, two daughters, three grandchildren and a younger brother.

 

Vitaly Borysyuk (06.06.1985-22.07.2022) native of Lviv. He studied at the “Halytskyi” lyceum of the Lviv City Council and the “Leader” general secondary school of grades I-III. In 2003, he graduated from the Lviv Higher Vocational College of Computer Technologies and Construction, majoring in “plaster, bricklayer”.
In peacetime, he worked at “World of Printing LTD” LLC, and later continued his work in the specialty he received.

Since 2019, he has been an employee of courier services. One of the founders of the electric bicycle movement in the city of Lviv.

In 2015-2016, he participated in an anti-terrorist operation. With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russia, he defended the Motherland as part of the A4221 military unit.

Vitaly Borysyuk is survived by his common-law wife, mother, grandmother, uncle and godson.
