Today, Lviv says goodbye to five Heroes who defended Ukraine

Today, March 7, Lviv will say goodbye to five more Heroes. Taras Gengalo, Myroslav Stets, Anatoly Pylypenko, Vladyslav Vyshatytskyi, Nazar Korolyshyn died defending Ukraine from the Russian invaders. The City Hall calls on Lviv residents and guests to join the city’s farewell ceremony and to refrain from entertainment events and celebrations during this time.

The funeral service of Nazar Korolyshyn will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Church of the Nativity of John the Baptist (Vinnyky, 61 Halytska St.). The Hero will be buried at the new cemetery in Vinnyky.

Taras Hengal’s funeral will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Garrison Church of Sts. App. Peter and Paul (11 Teatralna St.), at 11:30 a city farewell ceremony will be held on Rynok Square. The Hero will be buried at the Lychakiv cemetery.

The funeral of Myroslav Stets, Anatoliy Pylypenko, and Vladyslav Vyshatytskyi will begin at 2:00 p.m. in the Garrison Church of Sts. App. Peter and Paul, at 2:30 p.m. – city farewell ceremony on Rynok Square. Heroes will be buried at the Lychakiv cemetery.

 

Biographical references of Heroes

 

Nazarii Korolyshyn (06.05.1997-02.27.2023). A native of the city of Vinnyky.
He studied at Secondary Secondary School of Grades I-III No. 29 of Lviv. He graduated from the Separate Structural Unit “Automotive and Road Professional College of the Lviv Polytechnic National University”, later continued his education at the Lviv Polytechnic National University.

After completing his studies, he completed his military service in the capital under the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. He worked at the Private Enterprise “Energy M-Plus” and at a service station in Lviv. He was fond of cars and technology.

From the first days of the full-scale invasion, he joined the ranks of the 2nd separate Galician brigade of the Western operational-territorial unit of the National Guard of Ukraine to defend the Motherland. During his service in the city of Brody, he got married. On his own initiative, he defended the independence of the state at “zero”.

Nazarii Korolyshyn is survived by his parents and younger brother.

 

Taras Gengalo (24.07.1991-25.02.2023) native of Lviv.
Studied at Taras Hryhorovych Shevchenko Lviv secondary comprehensive school of grades I-III No. 44. He graduated from the State Educational Institution “Lviv Higher Vocational College of Trade and Services” with a specialty of “cook-pastry chef”. Later he did military service.

Worked at Onur Construction International.

With the beginning of a full-scale invasion, he stood up to protect the Motherland from the Russian invaders. Performed combat missions in the eastern direction in the ranks of the 77th separate airmobile brigade of the Airborne Assault Troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Taras Hengal is survived by his parents, brother, wife and little daughter.

 

Vladyslav Vyshatytskyi (20.08.2001-03.03.2023) from Lviv.
Studied at Secondary Secondary School No. 65 of Lviv. Graduated from Higher Vocational School No. 20.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he went to war as a volunteer. Defended the territorial integrity and independence of the state in the ranks of the 125th separate territorial defense brigade of the “West” regional administration of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Performed combat missions in Kharkiv, Sumy and Donetsk regions.

Vladyslav Vyshatytsky is survived by his parents.

 

Anatoly Pylypenko (July 23, 1966-March 4, 2023) was born in Yenakieve, Donetsk region.
He studied at a local school in Yenakiyiv, later at the Donetsk secondary school of grades I-III No. 15 of the Donetsk City Council of the Donetsk region. He graduated from the Donetsk National Technical University with a degree in surveying. After completing his studies, he served in the army.

In peacetime, he worked as a deputy commander in the State Militarized Mountain Rescue Service in Donetsk and Kramatorsk. He was the head of the Primary Trade Union Organization of the Independent Trade Union of Mineworkers of Ukraine of the Central Headquarters of the State Militarized Mining Rescue Service. Obtained the degree of candidate of sciences.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he moved to Lviv with his family and joined the territorial defense. He completed his military service in the ranks of the 125th Separate Territorial Defense Brigade of the “West” Regional Department of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Anatoly Pylypenko is survived by his wife, son, daughter, two sisters and five grandchildren.

 

Myroslav Stets (21.07.1974-04.03.2023). A native of the village of Zolotnyki, Ternopil region.
Studied at Taras Hryhorovych Shevchenko Secondary School N44 in Lviv. Graduated from the Lviv Vocational College of the Lviv National University of Nature Management. He received his education at the National Defense University of Ukraine named after Ivan Chernyakhovsky.

In peacetime, he worked in a housing and exploitation office.

Performed combat tasks in the area of the Anti-Terrorist Operation as part of the 23rd separate motorized infantry battalion “Khortytsia” of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion, he volunteered to defend the Motherland from the Russian invaders. He fought against the terrorist state in the ranks of the 125th separate territorial defense brigade of the “West” regional administration of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Myroslav Stets is survived by his wife, son and daughter.
