Today Lviv region says goodbye to its defenders
🕯️ Viktor Parfeniuk
A resident of the village of Ponykovytsia, Zolochiv district. From the first days of the full-scale invasion, he stood up to defend the country. He was a rifleman-assistant grenade launcher of a rifle company of a military unit. He died on 1 March. The defender was 46 years old.
🕯️ Andriy Petsold
A resident of the village of Velykopole, Ivano-Frankivsk community. He stood up to defend his homeland in the first days of the full-scale invasion. Later, as a father of three, he was demobilised. However, in the spring of 2024, he voluntarily returned to the ranks of the defenders. He was a serviceman of the military unit A1376.
He served as the commander of the rifle squad. In July 2024, during a combat mission near the village of Urozhayne, Volnovakha district, Donetsk region, he went missing.
After identification, his death was confirmed on 27 February 2025.
🕯️ Oleksii Volchanskyi
A resident of Lviv.
From the beginning of the full-scale invasion, he voluntarily joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He performed combat missions as part of the 1st Border Guard Detachment of the Eastern Regional Directorate of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine. He defended the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Motherland in Sumy and Kharkiv regions.
The soldier died on 24 February.
🕯️ Ivan Snihir
Ivan Snihir was born in Mykolaiv.
In 2020, he moved to Lviv.
From the beginning of the full-scale invasion, he voluntarily joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He performed combat missions as part of the 1st Border Guard Detachment of the Eastern Regional Directorate of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine. He served in the Kharkiv and Sumy regions, and was seriously wounded during a combat mission.
The soldier died on 25 February.
