Today Lviv region says goodbye to six defenders
Ihor Mirka
A resident of Yavoriv. In May of this year, he joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine as part of the 33rd separate mechanised brigade. He performed combat missions in the Donetsk region. On 1 September 2024, he was seriously injured. On 13 September, he died in hospital as a result of his injuries.
Ivan Kucherak
Originally from the village of Zarichne, Stryi community.
He was a sapper of an engineering platoon. He died on 19 September 2024 during an engineering reconnaissance in the Kursk region. The warrior was 30 years old.
Dmytro Hrytsai
A resident of Lviv.
With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he joined the 21st Separate Mechanised Brigade to defend his homeland. He fought against the occupiers in Donetsk, Kharkiv and Mykolaiv regions. During his service, he was promoted to junior sergeant and was repeatedly recognised by the military command.
Andrii Vovk
A resident of Lviv.
With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russia, he joined the 22nd separate mechanised brigade of the 38th army corps of the armed forces of Ukraine to defend his homeland.
Andriy Vityaz
A resident of Lviv.
From the first days of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he volunteered to defend his homeland. First, he joined the Hospitallers medical battalion, and in 2023 he signed a contract with the 80th separate airborne assault brigade of the Galician Army. He fought against the invaders in the most fierce areas of the frontline.
Vitalii Lopushanskyi
A native of the village of Pidbirtsi, Lviv region.
In 2015, he performed combat missions in the anti-terrorist operation area as part of the 308th separate engineering battalion. In 2019, he signed a contract with the 24th Separate Mechanised Brigade named after King Danylo and was in the Joint Forces Operation area.
With the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, he joined the 503rd Separate Marine Battalion of the Ukrainian Navy to defend Ukraine from the invaders. He performed combat missions in the eastern part of the frontline.
