Today Lviv region says goodbye to seven defenders
Bohdan Udych
A resident of Lviv.
With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he joined the 117th Separate Mechanised Brigade of the 10th Army Corps. He held the position of assistant grenade launcher.
He performed combat missions in the Zaporizhzhia direction.
Serhiy Oliychuk
Born in Halych, Ivano-Frankivsk region. Until 2007, he lived in Rohatyn.
With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he joined the 132nd separate reconnaissance battalion to defend the state. He performed combat missions in the Donetsk region. In a short period of time, he was promoted to the rank of junior sergeant and the position of squad leader.
Serhii Mykytyuk
A resident of Brody, Zolochiv district. He held the position of the head of the canteen of the platoon of the medical company of the military unit.
He died on 6 September 2024 due to illness. He was 40 years old.
Vadym Muravskyi
A native of Ukrainka village, Mykolaiv region.
After graduation, in 2009-2017, he served as an officer in the 540th Anti-Aircraft Missile Regiment of Hetman Ivan Vyhovskyi in Lviv. Subsequently, he joined the Special Operations Forces and was the commander of a special operations unit.
Lieutenant colonel. He performed combat missions in the Anti-Terrorist Operation/Joint Forces Operation area. He gained his first combat experience as a member of the Dyka Kachka consolidated detachment of the Air Force in 2014 near Donetsk Airport.
In 2021, he entered the National Defence University of Ukraine, graduated from a shortened programme due to the outbreak of a full-scale invasion, and was assigned to the Special Operations Command. Since the beginning of 2024, he has been performing tasks as part of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine. He was awarded numerous state and departmental decorations for courage and bravery during combat missions, including “For Exemplary Service to Ukraine”, “ATO Participant”, “For Military Service to Ukraine” and “For Diligent Service”.
Andrii Kulievych
A resident of the village of Potelych, Rava-Ruska community. The soldier was a grenade launcher of the military unit A 7348.
He died on 8 September 2024 near the village of Krasnohorivka, Pokrovsk district, Donetsk region, at the age of 28.
Vasyl Lutskiv
A resident of the village Butyny, Chervonohrad district. He was an inspector of the Border Guard Service of the military unit 9938, a senior sergeant. He died on 7 September 2024.
Vasyl Petryliak
A resident of Drohobych.
On 1 April, 2022, he was mobilised into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the village of Desna, Chernihiv region. He was the chief sergeant of the self-propelled artillery battery of the military unit A7014. He died on 17 May 2022 during an air strike on the village of Desna.
He was posthumously awarded the 66th Separate Mechanised Brigade of the Army badge and the honorary citizen of Drohobych district (posthumously).
