Every day at 9:00 a.m., we pause for a minute of silence to honour the memory of all those who gave their lives for Ukraine in the war against Russian aggression.
Today, Lviv region says goodbye to its heroic soldiers:
Oleksandr Stanev
Born in Bakhmut, he moved with his family to Drohobych in 2022 due to the full-scale aggression. In October 2024, he voluntarily joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served as a rifleman in the motorised infantry division of the 59th separate motorised infantry brigade named after Yakiv Handziuk. He died on 6 December near Novotroitske, Donetsk region.
Ihor Kiyko
A resident of the village of Semenivka, Pustomyty community. The soldier served in the 77th separate airmobile brigade of the Naddniprians. He died on 6 December near Izium, Kharkiv region. He was 58 years old.
Bohdan Bilotserkevets
Originally from Zhydachiv. He served as a rifleman in a specialised unit of the rifle platoon of the military unit A0666. He died on 6 December near Chasovyi Yar, Donetsk region. The soldier was 38 years old.
Dmytro Ananko
A resident of the Sheptytska community. Junior sergeant of the 24th separate mechanised brigade named after King Danylo. He had been defending Ukraine since 2015. After being severely injured in 2022, he underwent extensive treatment, but his previous injuries recurred. The defender died in 2023 at the Military Medical Clinical Centre of the Western Region.
Nazar Ostrovskyi
A resident of Lviv, a participant in the Revolution of Dignity. After the invasion in 2022, he returned to the National Guard of Ukraine. Recently, he was defending Donetsk region as part of the Azov Brigade. The soldier died on 25 October.
Ivan Manus
A resident of Lviv who voluntarily joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine at the beginning of the war. He fought in the Kharkiv region as part of the 419th separate rifle battalion. He died on 4 December.
Andrii Balytskyi
A resident of the village of Strelbychi, Starosambir community. He was a rifleman in the specialised battalion “Shkval”. He died in Novotroitske, Donetsk region.
Ivan Sten
Originally from the village of Shklo, where he was trained and served in the navy. He took part in battles in Donetsk region, was repeatedly wounded, but returned to the front. He died on 9 December after a long treatment.
