Every day at 9:00 a.m., we pay tribute with a minute of silence to all those who laid down their lives for the freedom of Ukraine in the fight against Russian aggression.
Today Lviv region says goodbye to nine heroes who became a symbol of indestructibility and devotion to their country.
The names of the fallen defenders:
🕯️ Yuri Shpirka
A resident of the village of Yampol in the Murovanska community. He died on 2 November as a result of mortar shelling near the settlement of Chasov Yar in Donetsk region. The defender was 27 years old.
🕯️ Bogdan Popovic
Resident of the village of Podhajchiki, Glinianska municipality. Soldier of the mechanised battalion of military unit A4594. He died on 17 October near the village of Ostroe in Donetsk region. He found eternal rest at the age of 36.
🕯️ Yuri Ivasishin
Originally from Zhidachiv. Participant of the Revolution of Dignity, defender in the Carpathian Sich battalion, the International Legion and the Marines. He was seriously wounded near Bakhmut, but continued to fight. He died on 12 July at the age of 35.
🕯️ Vitaly Tkach
A native of Kherson region, a rifleman-sanitarian in military unit A4993. He had been reported missing since April 2024. His death near Georgievka in Donetsk Region was confirmed on 6 December. The hero was 47 years old.
🕯️ Artur Zalensky
Born in Boryslav, served in the Bohdan Khmelnitsky Independent Presidential Brigade. He died on 5 December as a result of shelling near Toretsk in Donetsk Region. He was 48 years old.
🕯️ Roman Lesiv
Lviv resident, defender of the 24th King Daniel UMBR. Died during combat missions in Donetsk region on 15 November at the age of 50.
🕯️ Dmytro Mikhalko
Born in Pavlograd, after his studies he settled in Lviv. Served in the military unit A4219. He died on 6 December while carrying out a mission in Donetsk region. The warrior was 49 years old.
🕯️ Vasily Kirchey
Resident of Oryv village. He joined the defence of Ukraine from the first days of the full-scale war. Demobilised, but his life was cut short on the eve.
🕯️ Nikolai Nikitin
He lived in the village of Konyushki Korolevskie. Died on 5 December during a combat mission near Novoivanovka in Kursk region of rf. The defender was 50 years old.

These courageous warriors will remain in our hearts forever. Their sacrifice for a free Ukraine is unforgettable. Ukrainians owe their freedom and independence to their feat.
