A native of Lviv.
After completing his studies, he served in the military in the city of Chuguiv, Kharkiv region.
From the first day of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he volunteered to defend the Motherland from the invaders. He performed combat missions in the “hot spots” of the front as part of the 80th separate assault-assault brigade of the Galician assault-assault troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Ivan Matsega is survived by his mother, wife, and two daughters. Eternal memory to all Heroes!
