Lviv Region Bids Farewell to Two Fallen Soldiers from Ternavka and Lviv

Every day at 9:00 a.m., Ukraine observes a nationwide moment of silence. Wherever they are, Ukrainians pause to honor the memory of all those who gave their lives defending the country from Russian aggression.

Today, October 22, the Lviv region mourns the loss of two brave defenders who laid down their lives for Ukraine.


🕯️ Volodymyr Huzenko

  • A native of Ternavka, part of the Slavske territorial community.

  • Joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine in December 2022.

  • Served as a gunner in the 3rd mechanized battalion of military unit A4808.

  • Was killed in action while on a combat mission near Vremivka in the Volnovakha district of Donetsk region.


🕯️ Volodymyr Saliuk

  • A resident of Lviv and veteran of the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO).

  • Participated in the fierce battles for Donetsk Airport and was one of the defenders known as the “Cyborgs.”

  • At the start of the full-scale invasion, he voluntarily joined the fight to protect his homeland.

  • Served with the 33rd Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Ukrainian Ground Forces, defending the Donetsk sector.

  • Decorated with the Order “For Courage” 3rd Class, the badge “For the Defense of Donetsk Airport,” and a commemorative medal from the 122nd Separate Airmobile Battalion.


The Lviv region honors its fallen heroes. Eternal glory to all who sacrificed their lives for Ukraine. Sincere condolences to the families of the deceased.
