Every day at 9:00 a.m., residents of Lviv Region honor those who lost their lives in Ukraine’s fight for freedom with a moment of silence. Today, the region bids farewell to six brave defenders who sacrificed their lives for the country.
🕯️ Stepan Kushnir
A native of the Drohobych community. He joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine at the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion. Initially served in air defense, later transferred to unit A4053 to perform combat tasks on the frontlines. He was a senior sergeant and machine gun unit commander. He died on December 30 near Torske, Donetsk region.
🕯️ Roman Kolodiy
A resident of Lviv. In May 2024, he joined the 125th Territorial Defense Brigade. He passed away on December 28.
🕯️ Taras Sovhan
A native of Lviv. Joined the 7th Border Guard Carpathian Detachment at the onset of the full-scale invasion. He carried out combat missions in eastern Ukraine. He died on November 22.
🕯️ Roman Kashuba
A resident of Lviv. He fought against Russian forces as part of the 18th Slovyansk Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine in Donetsk region. He died on December 24.
🕯️ Yuriy Syrotiuk
Born in the village of Zavadiv and lived in Holobutiv, Stryi community. Served as a senior sergeant and commander of an air defense platoon. He died near Sudzha, Kursk region, at the age of 29.
🕯️ Vasyl Ferens
A resident of Radekhiv community. Served as a grenadier in an assault unit. He died on December 29 while performing a combat mission in Kursk region.
