The former mayor of Sokal, Stepan Naumchuk, passed away today

Today, at the age of 87, the heart of Stepan Semenovych Naumchuk, mayor of Sokal in 1994-1998, stopped beating.

The sad news was reported by the Sokal City Council.

Stepan Semenovych was born on 13 January 1937 in the village of Rudenko, Radekhiv district, into a large family. At the age of 6, he lost his mother, and his father raised five children on his own, which was a very difficult time.

He went to school in the village of Rudenko, and later the family moved to Sokal. After graduating from school, he entered Lviv Polytechnic, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, and combined his studies with work, working as a driver for the ShSMU. After graduating, he worked as an engineer at the Sokal Motor Depot and later became the director of the motor depot.

He was elected mayor of Sokal in 1994. He was the head of the Ukrainian People’s Party in the city.
The people of Sokal know Stepan Semenovych Naumchuk as a kind, honest, decent, tolerant person. No matter what position he held, he was always attentive to people’s requests, performed his duties in good faith and honestly, and left a good memory.

The city leadership, Sokal City Council staff, deputies, and members of the Executive Committee deeply mourn the death of Stepan Semenovych Naumchuk and express their sincere condolences to his wife Nadiya, sons Yuriy and Ihor, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and the entire family.
