Today, the city of Sokal and its guests paid tribute to Ukrainian Defender Volodymyr Ivanovych Huzar, born in 1972 and a resident of Zubkiv village. At 14:30, a solemn reception took place near the Church of Saints Peter and Paul, after which the funeral procession continued to Zubkiv for a prayer vigil.
Originally from the village of Romanivka in Sokal district, Volodymyr graduated from Tartakiv School and earned a carpenter’s qualification at Belz VET College. He worked at various enterprises across the Sokal region throughout his life.
Together with his wife Oksana, he raised two daughters, Zoryana and Orysia, welcomed sons-in-law Pavlo and Roman, and became a grandfather to Alinka and Dmytryk.
On May 24, 2024, Volodymyr was drafted into military service. He served as a rifleman-grenadier in military unit A-7391. Sadly, on December 7, 2025, his heart gave out during service near the town of Bilopillia in Sumy region.
This marks the fourth fallen Hero welcomed on the shield by the village of Zubkiv. The entire community is in deep mourning. Volodymyr Huzar will be laid to rest on Sunday, December 14, at the local cemetery.
We extend our sincere condolences to his mother Olha Mykhailivna, wife Oksana, daughters, sons-in-law, grandchildren, and all loved ones.
🕯️ We bow our heads in honor of Volodymyr Huzar’s sacrifice for Ukraine’s peace and freedom. Eternal memory and glory to the Defender.
