Volodymyr Chaplyk died defending Ukraine in the Kursk region.
On 23 February, 2025, Volodymyr Volodymyrovych CHAPLYK was killed while performing a combat mission near the village of Oleshnya, Suzhansky district, Kursk region. Born on 19 June 1975, the resident of Zhvyrka village laid down his life for the freedom of his homeland.
Volodymyr served as the commander of the communication unit of the communication platoon of the 3rd mechanised battalion of the military unit A 4699. The Hero is survived by his wife Nadiia, son Vasyl and mother Mykhailyna Onufriivna.
Residents of Sokal met the body of the fallen defender at 15:00 near the Church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul in Sokal. After that, the funeral cortege travelled to the village of Zhvyrka, where a parastas was held at 19:00 in the Church of the Holy Spirit.
The funeral of the Hero Volodymyr Chaplyk will be held on Thursday, 27 February, at 12:00. The defender will be laid to rest at the local cemetery in Zhvyrky.
