Sokal Region has reported the death of its defender Taras Khokhon, a resident of the village of Zavyshyn. The soldier was killed on 5 August 2024 near the settlement of Zhelanne in the Pokrovskyi district of Donetsk region.
Taras Khokhon was born on 27 February 1991. He received his primary education at Zavyshyn School and then continued his studies at Zhvyrkiv General Secondary School. He received his vocational education at Vocational School No. 55 in the city of Sheptytskyi.
After completing his studies, he worked for about ten years at the private enterprise “Kozatskyi Kurin”, and later for three years he was an employee of the company “EKO”.
Taras joined the Armed Forces to defend Ukraine on 8 June 2024. He served as a gunner in the 1st Jaeger Squad of the 1st Jaeger Platoon of the 1st Jaeger Company of the 1st Jaeger Battalion of military unit A4056.
Since August 2024, the defender had been considered missing in action. After a long wait, official confirmation of his death arrived: the soldier’s life was cut short on 5 August 2024 near Zhelanne in Donetsk region.
The fallen defender is survived by his mother and sister. Eternal memory to Taras Khokhon.
