The Sokal community mourns the passing of 53-year-old Volodymyr Ivanovych Huzar, a native of Romanivka and resident of Zubkiv village. On December 7, 2025, Volodymyr died while serving in the military near the city of Bilopillia in Sumy region.
Born on August 11, 1972, Volodymyr completed his schooling in Tartakiv and later graduated from the Belz Vocational School, where he trained as a carpenter. He worked at various enterprises throughout the Sokal district. Together with his wife Oksana, he raised two daughters — Zoryana and Orysia. He later welcomed sons-in-law Pavlo and Roman into the family, and became a proud grandfather to Alinka and Dmytryk.
On May 24, 2024, he was conscripted into the Armed Forces of Ukraine and served as a rifleman-grenadier in military unit A-7391. Sadly, his heart gave out during active service.
Our deepest condolences go out to his mother Olha Mykhailivna, wife Oksana, daughters, sons-in-law, grandchildren, and the entire family.
The body of Volodymyr Huzar will arrive for farewell on Thursday, December 13, at 2:30 p.m. near the Church of Saints Peter and Paul. The funeral procession will then move to Zubkiv village, where a memorial service will be held. He will be laid to rest on Saturday, December 14, at the local cemetery.
Eternal memory to the Hero and heartfelt gratitude for his service to Ukraine.
