On January 5, 2025, near the village of Berdin in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation, Andriy Maryanovych Ilchyshyn tragically lost his life while performing a combat mission to defend Ukraine. Born in 1985, Andriy served as a senior rifleman-operator in the 3rd Assault Unit, 1st Assault Platoon, 2nd Assault Company of Military Unit A7400.
He was killed as a result of artillery shelling.
The Sokal region mourns along with the Hero’s family. Deep condolences are extended to his father Maryan, daughters Yuliya and Veronika, brothers, sister, uncle, and the entire family.
Details about the arrival of the Hero’s body will be announced later. The burial will take place at the cemetery in the village of Potoritsa.
