Sad news was announced today in the Sokal City Council.
Yesterday, the heart of our Defender Magdyuk Serhii Vitaliyovych, born on September 28, 1986, a resident of Sokal, stopped.
Immediately after the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by the occupiers, on February 25, 2022, Serhiy volunteered to serve in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, serving in the 105th Chernihiv border detachment. He was a Hero, a Patriot, because he could not stand up for the defense of Ukraine, he had legal reasons for it.
We express our sincere condolences on the death of the Hero to his parents – Nataliya Mykolaivna and Vitaly Ivanovych, common-law wife Vasylina, and two daughters – Sofiyka and Darynka.
The body of the Defender is already on the way to his native Sokal. Today approximately at 5 p.m. (we will announce the exact time later) we meet the body of Hero Serhii Magdyuk on his native land. We ask the community to postpone all matters and come to properly meet the Hero at the church of Saints Peter and Paul, with flags, flowers, lamps.
Let’s remember that for our peace and for our peaceful life Serhiy Magdyuk fought with the occupier from the first days of the war and laid the most precious thing on the altar of freedom – his life.
The memorial service will take place today at 6:00 p.m. in the mourning room of the Church of Saints Peter and Paul. The funeral will begin tomorrow at 1:30 p.m. Serhiy Magdyuk will be buried on the Alley of Glory in Sokal.
