The Sokal community has reported a grievous loss: Fedashko Illia Ivanovych, a native of the village of Ilkovychi who defended Ukraine from Russian aggression, has been killed in the war.
Illia Fedashko was born on 26 July 1985 in Ilkovychi. From 1992 to 2001 he studied at the Ilkovychi Secondary Comprehensive School of Grades I–III. After finishing school, he worked as a builder for various construction companies. Since 2008 he had been living and working in Kyiv.
On 20 October 2024, Illia Fedashko was called up for military service under mobilisation for the special period by the Shevchenkivskyi District Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Centre of the city of Kyiv. True to his military oath, he conscientiously fulfilled his duty and took part in the defence of Ukraine.
On 6 September 2025, near the settlement of Berdyn in the Velykosoldatskyi district of Kursk oblast of the Russian Federation, while performing his military service duties, Illia Fedashko was killed. For a long time, the serviceman was considered missing in action.
The community stresses that his life was cut short on the battlefield; however, the memory of the defender’s courage, devotion and sacrifice will forever remain in the hearts of his family, comrades-in-arms and all who knew him.
The Sokal community extends its sincere condolences to the family, relatives, friends and comrades-in-arms of Illia Fedashko. They promise to provide additional information on the date and time of the arrival of the fallen warrior’s body and the funeral service.
