Sokal community to welcome fallen defender Yurii Boiarchuk from Shpykolosy on his final journey

The Sokal community is mourning the loss of Ukrainian defender Yurii Oleksandrovych Boiarchuk. His death has been confirmed through DNA examination.

Yurii Boiarchuk was born on October 18, 1995, in the village of Shpykolosy. He studied at Kniazhiv Secondary School and later trained as an auto mechanic at Chervonohrad Vocational School No. 55.

On February 10, 2023, Yurii was called up for military service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was drafted by the First Department of the Chervonohrad District Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center in Lviv region.

During his service, he served as a grenade launcher operator in a mechanized unit of military unit A-4574. For courage, dedication to duty, and loyalty to Ukraine, the soldier was awarded the honorary badge of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the “Golden Cross.”

On June 2, 2024, during a combat clash near Kostiantynivka in Pokrovsk district, Donetsk region, contact with Yurii Boiarchuk was lost. From that moment, he was considered missing, as both communication and visual contact with the serviceman had been cut off.

On May 11, 2026, his family received the heartbreaking news: the Hero is returning home “on his shield.”

The Sokal community extends sincere condolences to his mother Mariia, his brother Stepan, relatives, friends, comrades-in-arms, and everyone who knew Yurii Boiarchuk.

Eternal memory and glory to the Ukrainian warrior who gave his life for the freedom, peace, and independence of Ukraine.
