On September 14, the residents of Sosnivka ceremoniously welcomed their fellow townsman, prisoner of war Oleh Stopchanskyi.
This day became special as it was on the city’s Day that Oleh returned home after almost two years in captivity. He lived in Kyiv and served in the capital’s territorial defense. After his release and rehabilitation, Oleh arrived in his native Sosnivka, where he was met by residents, clergy, and authorities.
“Today, Sosnivka’s City Day has become truly special… Tears of joy, applause, warm embraces, and words of gratitude — all of this was for Oleh today. His return became a real gift for all of us and a reminder of the price of our freedom. Thank you, Oleh, for your courage, resilience, and faith!
