The death of sailor Oleksandr Kulish, a resident of the village of Porshna, who had been considered missing in action for over a year during fighting in the Volnovakha district, has been officially confirmed.
Oleksandr Kulish, born on 14 February 1987, was serving in the Armed Forces as a sailor. On 21 February 2025, he was killed while defending Ukraine in the Volnovakha district. Since then, the serviceman had been listed as missing in action, and official confirmation of his death has only just been received.
For more than a year, his family waited for news of Oleksandr, holding on to hope for his return. Now his relatives and loved ones have had to accept the most painful news.
The community's statement notes that Oleksandr Kulish will forever be remembered as a defender of Ukraine who gave his life for the country's freedom. Condolences are extended to his wife Romana, his children Olena and Matvii, his mother Mariia Oleksandrivna, his father Viktor Mykhailovych and the entire family.
Details of the funeral service and the farewell to the fallen serviceman will be released in due course.
