
Stepan Romanskyi, a native of the village of Lishnia in the Drohobych community, was killed while carrying out a combat mission near the settlement of Vilniansk in Zaporizhzhia region.
As reported by Drohobych City Council, the defender was born on 1 January 1969. He served in the Armed Forces as a mechanic-driver of the 2nd mechanised squad of the 3rd mechanised platoon of the 8th mechanised company of the 3rd mechanised battalion of military unit A7013.
The soldier’s life was cut short on 6 June 2026 during a combat mission to defend the territorial integrity and independence of Ukraine. Stepan Romanskyi is survived by two sons, one of whom is also serving on the front line.
Drohobych City Council, the executive committee, Mayor Taras Kuchma and City Council Secretary Orest Karakevych have extended their condolences to the family, relatives and friends of the fallen soldier.
The funeral cortege bearing the defender’s body will be met on 13 June at 15:00 at the Heroes’ crossroads in Drohobych. After this, the cortege will proceed to his native village of Lishnia, where the funeral service will be held in the Church of St Archistrategos Michael, and Stepan Romanskyi will be laid to rest in the cemetery in his home village.
