Serviceman Arkadii Shafiiev, deputy commander of a fighting vehicle and gunner-operator, died from his wounds in a hospital in the town of Tlumach in the Ivano-Frankivsk region. This was reported by Stryi City Council.
Arkadii Shafiiev was born on 23 July 1984 in the town of Selydove, Pokrovskyi district, Donetsk region. He studied and worked there. After the occupation of Selydove in 2024, he moved with his mother to Stryi, where he found work at a local enterprise.
In July 2025 he was mobilised into the army. Serving in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, he, according to Stryi City Council, carried out his duties conscientiously.
After being wounded, Arkadii Shafiiev was taken to hospital in Tlumach, where he died on 29 July 2026. He is survived by his mother.
In Stryi, they extend their sincere condolences to the family and friends of the fallen soldier and note that the Galician land will cherish the memory of the Ukrainian defender from Donbas who gave his life for Ukraine.
