Ukraine has updated the procedure for issuing the “Air raid alert” signal: it is now divided into two levels depending on the nature of the aerial threat — yellow and red. Information about the threat level must be announced in the wording of the voice alert.
The “Air raid alert” signal consists of the “Attention everyone” siren and a short voice message specifying the declared level — “yellow level” or “red level”.
Yellow level indicates a drone threat. It is introduced when there is a risk that the enemy may use strike unmanned aerial vehicles. In this case, the “Air raid alert” signal may be transmitted selectively for individual districts of a region. Each message lasts 30 seconds and is repeated three times.
Red level is used in the event of a missile or combined missile-and-drone threat, as well as during massive drone attacks. When the red level is declared, the “Air raid alert” signal is activated simultaneously throughout the entire region. The voice message lasts 1 minute and is repeated twice.
The “Air raid all clear” signal is now issued only as a voice message, without the preceding “Attention everyone” siren. This message lasts 20 seconds and is also repeated twice.
Regardless of the declared threat level, residents are urged not to ignore alert signals and to take timely care of their own safety.
