Third anniversary of the destruction of the Kakhovka HPP: rescuers remind the public of Russia’s war crime

Today marks the third anniversary of the destruction of the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant, which resulted in one of the largest man-made disasters since the start of the full-scale war.

Russian occupation forces destroyed the Kakhovka HPP, causing large-scale flooding of territories, the destruction of infrastructure and severe environmental consequences. The State Emergency Service of Ukraine stresses that this explosion is regarded as a war crime.

Rescuers recall the events of three years ago and emphasise that the consequences of the destruction of the hydraulic structure are still being felt by people and the environment.
