It has been three years since the death of defender Ivan Doletskyi, a native and resident of the town of Velyki Mosty, who gave his life defending Ukraine.
Ivan Doletskyi was a loving son, husband and father of two daughters — Emilia and Eleonora. Before the war he had plans, dreams and a happy family life, which was cut short by the fighting.
On 9 August 2023, Ivan took up arms to defend his Homeland. Already on 17 October of the same year, he was killed while carrying out a combat mission near Robotyne in Zaporizhzhia region. After he went missing, his family waited a long time for news of the soldier’s fate.
Only on 29 December 2024 was the body of Ivan Doletskyi returned to Ukraine. On 29 January 2025, the Velyki Mosty community bade their defender a final farewell.
Posthumously, Ivan Doletskyi was awarded the Order “For Courage” III Class, and he was also given the honorary title “Hero of the Velyki Mosty Territorial Community”. His feat has become part of the community’s history and remains in the memory of all who knew and honour him.
