
On the official website of the President of Ukraine, signatures are being collected to posthumously award the honorary title ‘Hero of Ukraine’ to defender Petro Maslyuk from the Drohobych community. He heroically died on October 22, 2024, during a combat mission.
Petro Maslyuk was born on May 15, 1974, in the village of Monastyr-Lishnyanskiy. He served as a senior soldier in the 1st platoon, 4th company, 2nd mechanized battalion, military unit A7013 (65th Separate Mechanized Brigade). During the battle near Novodanilivka, Zaporizhzhia region, he stood out as a brave and honest warrior, always ready to support his comrades.
For his service, he was awarded certificates of recognition, appreciation, and the ‘Cossack Cross – for Combat Merits’. The petition on behalf of his family and community requests support for bestowing the title of Hero of Ukraine to honor the warrior’s memory.
Currently, the petition has gathered almost 15,000 of the required 25,000 signatures. The collection will continue for another 11 days. You can support the petition via the link.
