Turka community to welcome fallen defender Stepan Dubil

On 12 October the Turka community will welcome Stepan Dubil from the village of Vovche, a serviceman who was killed while defending Ukraine. The cortege carrying the body of the fallen defender will pass through several settlements in Lviv region.

From 11:00 to 11:10 in Sambir, a memorial service is planned by the Stepan Bandera monument. At 11:35 the cortege will be met in the town of Staryi Sambir, and at approximately 12:30–12:40 in the village of Rozluch.

In the town of Turka, the Hero is expected to be welcomed from approximately 13:00 to 13:30 by the sculpture of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the town centre, on Rynok Square. After this, the cortege carrying the body of the fallen serviceman will proceed to his native village of Vovche, where it is expected to arrive at about 14:00.

The funeral service for Stepan Dubil is scheduled for Tuesday, 13 October 2026, at 12:00 in the Church of the Entry into the Temple of the Holy Mother of God, the Virgin Mary, in the village of Vovche.

The community’s announcement notes that, should there be any changes to the schedule, additional information will be published. Residents of the settlements are urged to come out to the roadside to meet the cortege and honour the memory of the defender of Ukraine.
