The Sheptytska community has once again been struck by grief — its native son, defender of Ukraine Yurii Anatoliyovych Saienko, born in 1993, has fallen in battle.
He served as a medical evacuation driver in the medical unit of the territorial defense battalion of military unit A7031. On July 24, 2025, he was killed while performing a combat mission near the village of Oleksiivka in Sumy region.
Residents and local authorities express deep respect and gratitude to the Hero who gave his life for Ukraine’s freedom and independence.
Our heartfelt condolences go to Yurii’s family, friends, and comrades-in-arms. We share the pain of this irreparable loss and bow our heads in mourning. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of the people, and his sacrifice will always remind us of the high price Ukrainians pay for peace and liberty.
