With profound sorrow, the community of Sokilnyky mourns the loss of its native son, Nazar Parashchak, who was killed in a fierce battle against Russian occupiers near Pokrovsk, close to the village of Shevchenko.
His father shared the heartbreaking news, writing: “With deep sorrow, I announce that my son Nazar was killed in battle with the Russian aggressors. Eternal memory!”
Nazar was a true patriot of Ukraine. He was an active participant in the Revolution of Dignity and later served in the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO). In February 2024, he was among the first to volunteer again and take up arms to defend his homeland.
Ukraine, freedom, and justice were his core values. Nazar possessed the inner strength of a true Citizen and remained steadfast in his beliefs, even when it meant standing alone.
His death is a painful loss for everyone who knew him, who shared his ideals, and who walked the same path of struggle.
