Radekhiv community has suffered a grievous loss: on 13 September 2026, in a battle in Zaporizhzhia region, its resident, senior soldier Roman Kostiuk, was killed.
He was a resident of the town of Radekhiv who served as a crew member in a machine-gun platoon of an infantry company of the infantry battalion of the International Legion of Defence of Ukraine. He remained faithful to his Military Oath and died while carrying out a combat mission for the sake of Ukraine’s freedom and independence.
Radekhiv Town Council reported that it shares the pain of this irreparable loss with the family of Roman Kostiuk, his relatives, friends and comrades-in-arms. The community extends its sincere condolences to all who knew and respected the Defender.
Radekhiv Town Council has promised to provide additional information on the time and place of the cortege’s arrival with the body of the fallen soldier and on the funeral arrangements.
