Peaceful rally in Drohobych announced in support of missing and captured Defenders of Ukraine

On Sunday, 26 July, a peaceful rally will be held in Drohobych in support of missing and captured Defenders of Ukraine. The event will begin at 14:00 on Lesia Ukrainka Street, near the monument to Taras Shevchenko.

The rally is being organised by Marta Davydova, the wife of a fallen defender, together with the families of missing and captured service personnel. They seek to draw the community’s attention to the fate of Ukrainian soldiers who are unaccounted for or being held in captivity.

The key moment of the event will be the ceremonial unveiling of a flag bearing photographs of missing Defenders of Ukraine from the Drohobych community. The organisers stress that this flag should become a symbol of remembrance, faith and the shared struggle to bring every soldier home.

Families of service personnel, their friends, comrades-in-arms, local residents and all concerned citizens are invited to take part. Their shared presence, the organisers say, is intended to support the families who wait every day for news of their loved ones, and to serve as a further reminder that the fight to free prisoners and to find those who are missing continues.

The missing are not forgotten. Captivity is not a sentence. We are waiting for each and every one of you to come home.
