In Drohobych, fundraising continues for the fitting out of the Veteran Development Centre. Thanks to a series of charity events, the key one being the YOY FEST motorbike rock festival held to mark the city’s 935th anniversary, a total of 750,000 hryvnias has already been raised.
YOY FEST brought together residents of the Drohobych community, visitors to the city, volunteers, entrepreneurs, and representatives of the cultural and municipal sectors around a shared charitable goal. It was during the festival that the largest part of the amount intended for the Veteran Development Centre was collected.
The event was presented not only as a cultural or entertainment occasion. Its main aim was to support a space where military veterans and their family members can receive the help they need and gain new opportunities for development.
It united people around a specific goal — creating and developing a space where veterans and their families can receive the necessary support and new opportunities. For me, it is important that people from different walks of life got involved in this cause — community residents, entrepreneurs, volunteers, municipal workers. Everyone made their contribution to a shared result. I thank everyone who supported YOY FEST and helped turn this initiative into real support for our veterans,” said Taras Kuchma
The 750,000 hryvnias raised will be directed towards the further fitting out and development of the Veteran Development Centre. The Drohobych community stresses that the first YOY FEST motorbike rock festival has shown how joint action by the authorities, businesses and residents can deliver tangible results for those who have defended Ukraine.
