A ceremony was held at the Drohobych District State Administration to present state and military awards to the families of soldiers from Drohobych district who were killed or went missing in action while defending Ukraine.
By Decree of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the Order “For Courage”, 3rd Class was posthumously awarded to Vitalii Shymko and Andrii Diedov.
The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine’s Honorary Breast Badge “Combatant’s Cross” was posthumously presented to the families of Sergeant Ivan Rubash, Private Roman Sadovyi, Senior Private Yurii Khomyn and Junior Lieutenant Nazar Poplavskyi.
Two servicemen who are currently listed as missing in action were recognised separately. The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine’s breast badge “Golden Cross” was awarded to Petro Hrymula, and the medal “Cross of the Land Forces” of the Minister of Defence of Ukraine to Andrii Havryliak. The insignia were handed over to their relatives.
In its announcement, the Drohobych District Military Administration emphasised its gratitude and respect for Ukraine’s fallen and missing defenders.
